Every time I go I always leave happy. She listens to you, does what you ask her to do. She gives direction but also say it's up to you which is important. I've had hair dressers that don't listen and do what they want anyway. We talk...not gossip... and I laugh a lot. Thank you Jen for making it fun and doing such a great job.
I had called first and asked for someone who was good at cutting fine, fairly straight hair and said that I was picky having been a hairstylist and that the last time I "had my hair done" I had gone home and done it all over myself and that did not make me happy.
My glasses were in the way while she was cutting so I took them off and could not see that I was soon to have practically no hair in front of my ears.
I was assured that "there was no way that would happen with "****'s" haircuts."
I ended up with ... I don't know what you would call it (well I do but won't say it here).
I EVEN had a picture of the style that I wanted that was a side view VERY CLEARLY showing that the sides were not short and hacked off!
I wanted that style but could not do the back myself. I guess I should have done the front myself and just asked to have the back cut but too late now.
I am very sorry I went there - it is going to take months for the front sides of my hair to grow back - I could make it look a little better if I chopped off the top too so I could punk it up or something but then I would never get my bob back.
I have been trained in hairdressing. I have done my own hair for years but have a problem with my shoulders and cannot do the back well any more.
I should have followed my first instinct and run screaming from the chair when I saw she was going to do a razor cut which I do not like since I know it is easy to hack off too much with a razor.
Guess I will go invest in hats:{
I took this to mean that it would be what I wanted NOT that there would be nothing left to work with.
The back is short and uneven - the top is long - the sides are so short all I can do is slick it back with gel - I guess it is basically a pixie with layers that are too long for a pixie on top.
I wanted a stylized, layered bob which was very short and layered up in the back and the sides were also layered and tapering down to a little shorter than the length my hair was in front, my hair was already a chin length bob.
